A bronze statue has been erected in Moelfre to recognise the service and bravery of Moelfre Lifeboats most famous coxswain - Richard Evans

23 rd November 2004 was a memorable day for the small community of Moelfre when HRH Prince Charles unveiled the statue and attended a small service in the local Carmel Chapel - both where attended by the local community and visitors from far & wide

Dick Evans was awarded two gold and a bronze medal during his service with the RNLI - one golg being for the rescue of the Hindlea in 1959 and the other for the rescue of the Edmund & Mary

The statue is situated near both the Seawatch Centre and Moelfre Lifeboat station - both of which provide more detail of the history Moelfre and the sea as well as the exploits of Dick Evans
